5 mistakes you can make in airports that could cost you
Airports are stressful. You just want to be on that plane and flying off on your holiday but first you need to tackle all the hurdles that come with airport travel.
Here we’re going to look at some of the most common airport mistakes that make that already stressful time, even more stressful.
Turning up late
This is probably the most common mistake that people make when heading for the airport. Failing to arrive on time could mean that you miss your flight and you’ll have to shell out for additional costs because of it.
Think of all the queuing you’re going to be doing and make sure that you turn up in plenty of time before your flight. Take along some reading material or something else to keep you entertained. Yes, you might be waiting a long time, but at least you’ll make your flight!
Relying on airport parking
Airport parking is a nightmare. The only time it’ll work out for you is if you get lucky. I always recommend hiring a chauffeur service to ferry you to the airport. It means you won’t spend hours navigating your way around a busy car park trying to find that one spot you so desperately need.
You’ll be able to sit back and relax in a comfortable car, completely stress-free.
Forgetting about hand luggage
This isn’t really a catastrophic error, but it can really ruin your flight. Forgetting to pack any hand luggage means that you’re going to be sat on that plane with nothing to do, unless they put a film on, but who’s to say you’ll like the film?
In your hand luggage pack some essentials. Tissues, mints, a book and any medicine you may require. You’ll regret it if you don’t!
Not preparing for delays
Unfortunately delays are a common occurrence in airports and if you aren’t prepared for one, you’re going to be very, very bored. Pack some emergency delay stuff so you have something to entertain you.
Not clearly marking your luggage
Don’t just think the flight out will be stressful, when you land you have a whole new airport to deal with. AND you have to find your luggage. To make it easier on yourself, clearly mark your suitcases so when that conveyor belt comes round you can pick yours out of a line up.
